A Family Print Shop
Even if you don't fill your home with traditional decor, a piece that is timeless can really make a statement. I stumbled upon Essie Griffin's shop when I was looking for a unique piece for my stairway. I love pictures and my house is bursting with them, but I wanted something different. A Family Print Shop produces the most beautiful and thoughtful silhouettes. They are a classic piece of art that captures your family at a single moment in time. I fell in love immediately when I started browsing!
I contacted Essie because Corbin was just born and I wasn't sure with him being so little, if it would even work. She quickly responded and gave me a few suggestions for how to best take pictures of the three boys. The output is breathtaking!
The picture above doesn't showcase the detail that is put into these creations. Essie beautifully captured Parker's button nose, Weston's smirk, and Corbin's teeny tiny fly away hairs. You can see their eyelashes, lips and chin, every little thing that I love to kiss on their faces. Yes, I know there are only three silhouettes on my wall, there should be five. I'm currently debating on how Caroline's hair should be for her picture and working on getting the shots, so I can upgrade my wall.
I went with the classic silhouette, but A Family Print Shop has other options as well. They produce watercolor prints, sketched silhouettes by an additional designer, small enough prints to be placed in lockets and around the holidays they even have wooden ornaments (I'm hoping to get my hands on some of those this year). They will create family prints and those of adults, children and pets. Essie even has taken the time to create keepsakes of babies who were lost to soon, she will etch out their tiny feet in lockets for their mama's to treasure forever.

They make wonderful gifts, both my husband and my father proudly display the boys' silhouettes in their offices and receive compliments on what a special and unique keepsake.
